Now there’s a title not many people are eager to bear. Did you know there´s actually a world record for eating cockroaches? There’s this guy in England called Ken Edwards who used to be a rat catcher, and now he’s a professional weirdo who enjoys shocking people with outrageous stunts, such as eating cockroaches and stuffing rats down his pants. In 5 March, 2006 he inscribed his name in the Guiness Book of Records by gulping down 36 cockroaches in one minute, which he described as a similar feeling to “having an anesthetic at the back of the throat.” Charming, uh?

This is just one of many oddities that you’ll be able to learn about by browsing the online edition of the Guiness World Records.Within this renowned publication, you’re bound to find just about anything from the grotesque to the outstanding. Highly recommended, as a reminder of the extraordinary and disgusting achievements we human beings are capable of, once we push ourselves into it!
