Doubtlessly, human species is quite often cantankerous in the way it goes about in its own business. Let’s take it the Iraq war on Oil, for example: Why would a supposedly develoed and peaceful nation (USA) bother invading a foreign country (Iraq) under dubious pretext (preserving “peace” and righteousness), when there’s sufficient technological developments in the invading country to provide citizens with a better alternative to fossil fuels?
I guess it all boils down to something as simple as…. too much ego, not enough perspective. Fortunately though, I think such position is exclusive to the politics crowd; it’s comforting to realize that within the scientific realms, some promising ecologic technological developments are regularly surfacing which might introduce some hope. This slice is meant to illustrate some of the recent developments in the industrial use of microalgae as both a source of biodiesel, and a possible solution some to our planet’s ecological distress.
