So London 2012 is finally here. It’s a time for the world to be united in its pride and embrace the greatest show on earth. While there’s certainly been a lot of competition in the air; ultimately, fun should be the legacy that is left behind when the iconic flame is eventually put out. We all need a bit of fun in our lives and below we take a look at some videos which represent the lighter side of the Olympics.

A common if somewhat controversial theme this year has been a question of sponsorships. This video is a clever take on the normal commercial drivel. A refreshing reminder of international cohesion.

This is pure genius and some might say even more inventive than the human version. There was however a noticeable absence of celebrity vermin.

The Mayor of London as priceless as ever. Here we see the best qualities of Mr Johnson as the quintessential ambassador for the country’s capital city. He really needs to be PM!
Olympic Pole Dancing
Inspire a generation? Well regardless of age, to most guys this is truly inspiring! It will be particularly interesting to see how the judges mark each competitor as they writhe up and down that greasy pole.

Here we’ve saved the best till last. Jamaica’s finest and the fastest man on the planet is portrayed here in almost true to life fashion. In fact it’s hardly a parody if truth be told!
Silly Olympics (Monty Python)
This is probably one of the best parodies there is and it has passed the test of time as its still eye wateringly funny and clearly how all Olympics should be conducted. Perhaps not 2012, but a classic nevertheless.
