This is a daily reminder why we like it here!

There’s not too much room for stars in the sky, but there’s plenty space for extras!

Ever dreamed of being a movie star? Come on, don’t be shy now… there are countless people who enjoy musing what it would be if they could get to the other side of the silver screen and play their favorite heroes. Why should you be any different? It’s not like there’s shame to being human and wanting things.

In all circumstance, and without meaning to burst no bubble, I should remind you that it’s not exactly easy getting in the movie industry - well, not by the front door, anyway. You see, the more I think about it, the more I realize there’s just too many people who want to get to the top straight away, without climbing some sort of a career ladder. In the movie industry as well as any other industry, that’s always bad reasoning.

In my opinion, learning the ropes is always the best way to get started doing anything, as well as getting some kind of practical hands-on experience. What I’m trying to say is… why should you be so concerned with pursuing and elusive goal, when there are practical goals you could be striving towards right now, that could set in in course towards higher flights? I’ve been told about this company called Talent6 which specializes in recruiting extras for movies and tv shows. The pay is actually not so bad ($100-$300 / day), and it could very well present with with a window of opportunity eventually… or at least it’ll allow you to see what it feels like to work in the industry. So if you want to be a star, this is my advice for you… head held up high, feet planted firmly on the ground… keep walking and who knows? Maybe you’ll get where you want.

Dude! Where’s your sense of humor, anyway?

I’m usually not a big fan of silly comedies, but today I’ve been introduced to this movie that I actually found entertainment, even though it falls in the “moronic teen comedy” niche. Labels aside, it’s actually a refreshing yet brainless comedy about life, death and all the good and bad things in between. Well, actually it’s merely about two friends who lose their car keys, ans subsequently engage in the most unexpected and bizarre adventures this side of the solar system. I’ll provide some clips of two remarkably moronic scenes that captured my attention. If you enjoy watching this selection, chances are you’ll enjoy the movie as well.

Hold your horses! Now… slide, you crazy action hero!

I’ve seen many a good and bad movie, in my days. So it’s not like I’m the kind of person who can’t easily suspend his disbelief, you can take that for granted. However, this specific scene I just uncovered just goes to show that a) Indian movies really have a way of doing away with disbelief entirely, and b) I’m not really sure what to make out of this scene.

I think this is one of those rare cases when something is so bad that it actually gets really good (thus crossing all the way across the vast spectrum of awfulness right into the blissful regions of awesome). If you know additional information about this clip, please let me know via comments.
