The “Nice & Easy” Beach Beauty Guide

Finally the sun is out and the beach is beginning to fill up with sun seekers. Sun kissed skin and rosy complexions are the set standard, so how do you prepare for the beach?

A full face of makeup will always look out of place and will be hard to keep perfect with the wind, heat and water. So here are a few tips to help create a flawless and attractive beach look.

Bronze Beauty

The goal of a beach look is to look as if you’re naturally suited to the beach. Bronzed skin and a healthy complexion are the defining features. In order to get this look you should try as best as possible to enhance what you already have.

The

Choose a bronzer that looks like your natural tan and doesn’t contain any shimmer – this will look overdone in the bright sun! Apply the bronzer on your cheekbones, the apples of your cheeks and a small amount on your temples and eyelids. To add an extra rosy glow, mix in some pink powder blush onto your cheeks.

Don’t Stress the Flaws

Humidity is a makeup killer so you can forget trying to achieve a flawless look. If you’re afraid to go without foundation or concealer on the beach then compromise by mixing a small amount of foundation into sunscreen and applying it as you normally would. This will give the same results as a tinted moisturiser but with the benefits of better coverage and sun protection. To cover up oily complexions that creep up during the day use a translucent powder to help remove the shine.

Make it Last

Being on the beach means that you’re going to be facing the elements of Mother Nature; wind, humidity, heat and water. Consider all these when you’re selecting products to wear to the beach. Opt for waterproof products where possible, especially mascara, as if you do end up the victim of a water prank you can keep your beautiful lashes and won’t have to fret too much.

If you want to wear some kind of lip colour, stick to stains or a matte lipstick as glosses will easily slide off with heat. Consider brighter colours such as red or fuchsia which flatter sun kissed complexions.

Remember Protection

One of the most essential steps to preparing to be beautiful on the beach is to ensure that you’re wearing sun protection. Put it on before you put on any make up and give it 30 minutes or so to soak into your skin. If you don’t allow it adequate time to dry then you will have issues applying products to your face. If you need to reapply throughout the day then consider buying a powder sunblock which can be placed on top of your make up.
