Miraculous Procedure: The birth and death of a Hemangioma!

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

This video may look a bit disturbing in the early part - particularly if you have a baby on the way. But if that’s the case… I really advise you to watch you through, because in the end you’ll feel reassured. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, a Hemangioma is a kind of vascular birthmark, which in the past brought much suffering to ill-fate individuals who would be doomed living life with strangely deformed features. Fortunately though, we’re now living in a time where science and medicine have come to the rescue… and as you’re about to see, that was quite a rescue, as well! Hopefully, this video will serve as a message of hope to anyone suffering with the same problem.

I mean… thanks God for Science, right?

admin November 14th, 2008

One of the things about the Internet is concerned with its highly fluid and surprising nature. Every once in a while, someone will come up with innovative ideas for website that will really make the world a little better place. Sometimes such ideas can be highly complex and sophisticated, and sometimes it can be something as simple as a beacon of hope. Today I’m about to provide an illustrative example of the latter.

Simply put, How I defeated is a website focusing on cataloging real testimonials from people who have surpassed terrible diseases such as Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer and Depression. It includes several articles written by people who once thought their fate had been set in a dark tone, but they ultimately succeeded in reclaiming their lives. Truly inspiration, and a worthwhile read for everyone, no matter if you’re healthy or sick.

Stem Cells cryogenics: a gift aimed at preserving life.

admin October 21st, 2008

With the holiday season just around the corner, the time has come to start planning what you’ll offer your loved ones. Well, I’ve been reading about an innovative kind of present which might be suitable for the kind of woman that has everything… a gift certificate aimed at preserving life.

You might have heard the news on stem cell preservation, a new technique that allows using cryogenically preserved healthy cells to potentially develop treatment for several diseases that may ocur in the future. What you might not know about is that there are companies offering this service at a reasonable price. C’elle is one such company, and it provides a save and easy method of harvesting samples of menstrual blood which are then processed and stored with the purpose of getting used in future cellular therapies. Such cells can be used to treat not only the woman they’ve been collected from, but also someone sharing her blood-lines… such as a parent, children or sibling, and they can be used to treat a vast range of life-threatening diseases.

Tell me what you don’t like about yourself, and I’ll tell you why coping is best.

admin September 16th, 2008

Lately, I’ve been catching some re-runs of the popular TV show nip/tuck, and I must admit I’m pleasantly surprised. I used to think this series would be as shallow as the underlying theme, so I’d never paid much attention or actually watched an entire episode. But now, after watching through the first season, I’ve realized that neither of my assumptions were true: not only it’s actually a though-provoking series, but also there’s more the the world of plastic surgery than meets the eye.

I’d always thought of plastic surgery as a futile science, whcih attendet to people who got obcessed with correcting their imperfections rather than learning how to cope with them. You see, I believe acceptance is a great doorway to happiness, and I admire people who are capable of accepting their bodies (faults included), much more than people who go to lenghts in order to correct “imperfections” which oftentimes are nothing but a matter of subjectivity, caused by lingering self-confidence issues of which such imperfections are merely the surface. However, watching this series has provided me with the insight that certain situations requiring plastic surgery go well beyond the realms of self-confidence and acceptance. Continue Reading »

There’s no such thing as healthy coffee? Think again…

admin September 11th, 2008

One thing goes without debate: I’m personally a huge fan of coffee, and I can hardly start of my early bird reasoning prior to getting my hot cup. However, one thing I could never quite understand is whether coffee is good or bad for the health. My opinion is that, like any other stimulant, it can be good as long as you use it in moderation and in the appropriate moments; however not all people seem to concur with this position. Well, I’ve just found something which might make this particular debate pointless, so let’s proceed towards a whole new debate, shall we?

gano healthy coffee

This little wonder of nature is called gano coffee, and according to the manufacturers it’s healthy type of coffee, thanks to the mixture with some exotic oriental mushrooms, or something like that. While I’m rather curious about this product, I don’t really have much additional information, but I’m writing this post hoping one of my readers will know something about it and help me quench my thirst of knowledge.

So if you’re into the idea of healthy coffees, make sure to check around this product. Also, as usual if you’ve tasted this particular coffee, I’ll appreciate if you provide us with your product reviews via comment box - your feedback will make us feel whole and informed.
