After promising a friend I’d help get a pumpkin for the upcoming halloween, I was looking around for one such gourd (during my excursion to the country, mind you), but all I could find was this horribly deformed specimen:

Needless to say, I was very much impressed with its gruesome shape and natural eeriness, so it didn’t take long until my vivid imagination got set into high gear. So I was wondering… would there be a better halloween custome than a horribly distorted pumpkin? After looking around some Halloween Costume Stores, I’m happy to say that … well, actually there are several options more interesting than being an antropomorphic pumpkin - but who cares about that anyway?
If I was planning to get dressed this halloween (which I’m not - since I usually think it’s more interesting to just make fun of inept dress-ups), I’m almost certain I’d grab an ugly pumpkin such as the one depicted above, and try to pass off as Merv Pumpkinhead, that lovely/hateful castlekeeper from the Sandman Universe. I think I’d have no trouble at all getting in character, so I might as well keep that ugly pumpkin close by in case I someone eventually succeeds in getting me sufficiently drunk convinced to actually go for a last-hour costume.

It’s only a few months until Halloween, so these warm end-of-summer days are possibly the best time to start making up your mind considering this year’s costumes. Shopping costumes online can be a great thing, because it’ll save you from a lot of driving around and confusion, messy costumes and headaches. It’s a lot simpler to just browse online inventories while comfortably sitting down in your computer, than going all around town trying to find the best store with the most appropriate costumes.
So, have you asked your kids what they’re thinking about wearing this year? Why not round them up around the computer, check some pictures and pick a few costumes? Worst case scenario, you’ll at least succeed in managing some quality family time, but there’s enough selection to choose from to keep even the most picky kids entertained.

So go ahead and have some fun planning this halloween, but make sure not to let your teenagers pick something too distasteful… although from this specific store, I don’t think that will become a problem. This world we live in is certainly a wonderful place, but it’s also quite dangerous on occasion. Sometimes, don’t you feel you could get your own personal police escort to keep you safe? Well, here’s a thought: When you feel like going for a tactical approach, think about getting your own police gear, and maybe that will keep the evildoers away. Otherwise just keep it safe , steer away from trouble, and save your police uniform for next Halloween! Remember than being a cop goes far beyond just looking like one.
