1. Houston
Houston was once thought of as a ghost town after the five o’clock rush hour. However, with the restoration of the downtown district, visitors are changing their mind about the area. Here you will find new retail shops and dining establishments that make each of the areas unique. Easily accessible from many of the hotels in Houston, the Warehouse District offers an artistic view of the community. 2. Dallas
One of the most well-known events in Dallas, Texas is the State Fair. This annual event has been held since 1886, and it is the home of many monumental moments and an array of fun-filled activities. 3. Galveston
Galveston has an exciting array of fun activities and attractions to enchant visitors. It’s just 50 miles south of Houston with an abundance of treasures for visitors to explore. The Bishop’s Palace is on the Historic Homes Tour and survived the 1900 hurricane. It’s also been named one of the top 100 most important buildings in America. For those interested in aviation, you won’t want to miss the Lone Star Flight Museum to visit displays of reconstructed aircrafts and historic wartime photos. Moody Gardens hosts attractions that include an IMAX theatre, rainforest and aquariums. Schlitterbahn is an indoor and outdoor water park with a variety of rides that are sure to thrill most visitors to the area.
4. Baytown
Baytown is filled with historic memories that are located by ferry ride. The city is host to an assortment of wildlife, vegetation and over 300 varieties of birds. Attractions include historical museums hosting pioneer history related to the area. The Nature Center sits on over 400 acres of land that surrounds several bays. It also is home to a beautiful butterfly garden, a nature center for children and nursery for the aquatic animals. Visitors can also enjoy kayaking and canoeing. For those interested in drag racing, Houston Raceway Park sits on over 400 acres, and it has an unobstructed view of the asphalt raceway.
5. Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi, Texas is conveniently located to a bountiful array of hotels, restaurants and other attractions. The area is settled on endless miles of shoreline and breathtaking beaches. Indulge yourself in the wonders of Corpus Christi. The U.S.S. Lexington is a walk back in time to the World War II aircraft that features a flight simulator and 3D Mega Theater. The deep blue waters of the Texas Aquarium will enchant you. The complex is home to many sea creatures that will engage the youngest of explorers.
