Disclaimer: If you have a sweet tooth, if you are a glutton, if you are on a diet, if for some medical reason you must avoid eating candies… you may want to skip this post. Because after looking through all these pictures, you’ll quite possibly feel like munching on a candy bar or three. You have been warned.
Yet another day, yet another curiosity freshly picked from the vast Internet landscapes. This time around, we’re showcasing the fascinating (and appetizing) work of
photography high resolution scanning that can be found in the blog ScandyBars.
The concept there is quite simple… but then again, so are many of the greatest ideas. Everyday, a new high-resolution picture of a candy bar is uploaded. Actually, it’s a high-resolution 300DPI scan of the side section of a candy… but let’s not get technical.
And in case you’re wondering… no, I’m sure the creative mind doing this concept did not get their flatbed scanner all gooey and messed up from the candy bars. There are ways to avoid doing so, but that’s besides the point.
Suffice to say, these pictures:
a) are fascinating to look at
b) showcase candy bars from across the world
c) make for a surprisingly fun game, which I just made up:
Can you name the candy bar in each one of these 300DPI scans?
That *was* unexpectedly fun, entertaining and appetite-inducing, wasn’t it? Very much like “Like a Blog in a Candy Store“.
Now, for the solutions to the candy-bar-spotting game. Oh, I’m not posting the actual solutions here. But you can easily check out the answers in the Scandybar blog. And while you’re there, make sure to subscribe to their Twitter and Facebook page.
Because they’re releasing new pictures everyday, and we totally approve of it. Besides, this is still a fairly new thing, so it gets really popular in a few months from now, you will get bragging rights next to your friends, because you learned about this way before everyone else. Just remember you’ve heard of it first at Slices of Life blog! (-;
And no, there was no form of bribery involved in the creation of this post. Not even candy. We just enjoy looking at pictures and salivating over delicious sweets. Don’t you?
