Serious lawyers, funny ads: maybe they won’t win your case, but they’ll sure make you laugh!

Ah… lawyers. According to some people, one of the most despicable races on earth. According to others… uh, does anyone really like lawyers anyway, or are they nothing but a necessary evil? Whatever the case may be, serious lawyers arguably make for some of the funniest commercials I’ve ever seen. And this post compiles the funniest commercial ads around so… uh, click play-play-play and I’ll get you laughing! And I’ll win you case too! YEAH!!

“I’m not afraid to take your case to court… just as soon as I wipe my pants clean!”

“I am the hammer, they are the nails!”

“What you need… is Bla Bla Bla.”

“These aren’t actors, you know?” No kidding!?

“The lawya gantsa playa something something mayo?”

Uh… I think this one is talking lawyer’s code:

Taking lawyers seriously? That’s so… old school, dad!

Note to the readers: Can you believe this is the only fake ad out from the bunch?

Badvertisements III: Beyond Awfull, Tasteless Extravaganza!

As some of you might recall, last year I released two special posts focusing the very worse magazine advertisements I’d come across in a long while. So, without further due I’ll proceed to cap this trilogy of sorts, and it pretty much goes like this:

Badvertisements 2: Well, I get it… but I still don’t like it!

If you can’t get enough of Badvertisements, the kind of ads that make you go “Uh?”, today is your lucky day! I’ve joined together some of the best worse advertisements that show just how desperate marketeers can get, trying to stand out from the crowd.

Oftentimes, much will be lost in translation, while an apparently brilliant idea gets converted into a nonsensical advertisement. Let’s see this series of Alka Seltzer ads, for example: they clearly intended to show us their anti-acids are so good you’ll be able to eat pretty much everything in sight. Hilarious, eh? Yeah, not really.

Next, we’re invited to visit the region of Aquitaine, in France. Apparently, this is such a nice place to visit that you’ll never want to leave. As clearly demonstrated in the following ads… but come on advertisement people, could you get a little less literal?

Badvertisements 1 : Ads I really don’t get!

Within the crowded modern markets, modern market-ists certainly don’t have it easy. There’s so much information going around, so many people trying to sell their thing and build their profit, that sometimes advertisers engage some desperate stunts to try and stand out from the crowd. Needless to say, in certain occasions some ads effectively succeed in doing so, but for all the wrong reasons.

real juicy beef

Have you ever come across a publicity that left you utterly puzzled and confused, all the while thinking “Were they actually trying to sell me on something or just chase me away? Are they trying to confuse me?”.

I certainly have thought so, and in fact it’s been happening so often that I decided to put together a list of my favorite BADVERTISEMENTS out there, so you can take your best shot at guessing what the hell it’s all about.

Let’s start with this bunch from OSO, a brand of food wrap. Okay, so they’re trying to tell us that if we don’t buy their product… our food will try to do stupid things? Shouldn’t the slogan read “If you don’t buy this, your food will try to kill itself in moronic fashion!”, or something like that? I’m really lost, here.

Okay, so next we have this brillian set from Aquafresh. Read the rest of this entry »

A tasty paradise: All you ever wanted to know about gummies!

If you’re anything like me, then you’re a real fan of gummi bears. However, if you’re really like me, then you have wondered at some point in your life how do they make such a cool, jelly-like candy. Well, wonder no more, because I just dug up this handy procedure, courtesy of www.candyusa.org. Read ahead, and wonder no more!

such a tasty horde...

such a tasty horde...

“Artists start with a character sketch and then carve it into tiny plaster molds. Then, machines duplicate the molds. The duplicates are run through a starch powder machine to produce starch powder mold pans.

In the factory, candy makers pour ingredients into large boilers. Some of the ingredients include gelatin, sugar and glucose syrup. The ingredients are heated together and constantly stirred by large paddles. Colors and flavorings are added to give the gummi snacks their distinct look and taste. Next, pipes transfer the mixture to the production area.

Nozzles are used to squeeze the mix on to the starch boards where it is left for three to five days. Afterwards, beeswax is added to make the candy shiny and less sticky. The gummi candies are finally moved to a packaging machine and are ready to ship. ”

Kind of takes the magic away, doesn’t it? Personally, I prefer to believe they’re fashioned by Granni Bear, with secret ingredients from the woods and just a hint of gummiberry juice! ;)

ps. according to the websitewhere I’ve read all the information above, red gummies are the most popular kind. Would you concur? I’m actually more into orange gummies myself.
