“Don’t pick up the phone”, or the fonejacker may get you a laughing stroke!

admin September 26th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

For everyone who’s a fan of prank calls, I’m about to present the next best thing ever since Bart Simpson picked up a phone and dialed Moe’s tavern. This is called Fonejacker and it’s a fast-paced semi-reality show revolving around the telephonic exploitations of a character whose central agenda is none other than to:

“seize control of a telephone conversation by farce esp. to divert it from reason and logic”

Sounds promising, uh? This british show is on the way to its third season of madness and public exploitation, and judging from the growing legions of fans, it won’t stop anytime soon. So if prank calls are the kind of thing that floats your boat, you might to want to look into this show!

Through the home motions: a whole new concept of truck rental.

admin September 26th, 2008

Yes, I know… moving to a new house can be one of life’s top sweet & sour experiences. On one hand, there’s the sweet of getting a new home, a new beggining and a new chance for a better living; on the other hand… there’s the whole moving scenario. As in, packing all your thinks, stripping your old house clean, putting everything in boxes and moving everything to the new house, unpacking and getting started with the new home thing.

Well, that’s that, right? And I certainly can’t help you deal with the sweet & sour conflit… however, I can let you in on a sweet deal which can make the sour part just a little tad effortless. It’s even better than truck rentals and it’s a whole new way of organizing the physical translation of your items. You see, rather than renting a truck to help you move, this concept revolves around rental cargo containers and a “you pack, they drive” philosophy. So you just load your cargo, they take it to the designated place, and you handle the unpacking - without stress or worries, and at a substacially lower price than hiring a company to do all the work for you.

Sounds interesting? I though so, and I figured it might come in handy. This is a slice you want to get bookmarked, unless you’re planning to stay in your present home forever (like so):

Google wants to help us make a better world! Are you in?

admin September 25th, 2008

Good news, everyone! Word just got out on Google’s “Project 10 to the 100“, a rather interesting and unique initiative. Simply put, Google is setting aside $10 Million to support, fund and implement ideas that will somehow help make a better world. So, at this moment, they’re asking for such ideas to get the ball rolling!

You can submit your own until the 20th of October, and early next year a voting will take place, from where 5 ideas will be selected for. So, at this point all I can say is… let’s brainstorm together! I’ve just submitted my own idea, and I hope you’ll feel encouraged to do the same. If there was a time the Internet could be used to effectively bring about a better day, this is it! So let’s get those gears spinning and come up with something real good, okay?

It’s time to suit up? Well, get measured for a perfect fit!

admin September 24th, 2008

Let me put something straight before I get on with this: I absolutely, positively hate suits; if I could, I’d wear loose jeans and sneakers all the time. However, I’m very much aware how suits can be a necessary evil, particularly for people who are not the slacker work-at-home-from-your-loose-jeans type. Well, to be honest it’s not suits that I dislike, it’s just the overarching idea that somehow a habit makes a monk. Well, in my opinion it doesn’t; you can be a monk without looking like one, and you can be a wicked business person without having to suit up. All the while, there are occasions when a nice suit comes in handy, particularly when it’s Made to Measure.

What does it mean to get plutoed? Let’s hope to never find out personally!

admin September 24th, 2008

In its 17th annual words of the year vote, the American Dialect Society voted “plutoed” as the word of the year, in a run-off against climate canary. To pluto is to demote or devalue someone or something, as happened to the former planet Pluto when the General Assembly of
the International Astronomical Union decided Pluto no longer met its definition of a planet.Source

Okay, so you have probably heard about the de-promotion of pluto the planet (not pluto the dog, he’s still held in high remarks), but chances are you didn’t know that an actual new word had been coined out of the surrounding affair. So please update your dictionaries, and take stock of what “getting plutoed” means… while hoping you never have to experience that personally.

Yeah, we all know science can be cruel, it its self-ascribed righteousness and delusions of “objectivity”… but come on… the lil’ guy had been hanging tight for so many years along with the rest of the solar system. Was there really an actual need to get technical and pick on him… actually pick him out from the bunch? Shame on you, scientific people. For all your brains’ worth, it’s clear to me you have no hearts, and you’ve just proved so with this pluto issue.

You might was well hope science doesn’t get pluto’ed someday when they discover the next best thing. You hear me? Now LEAVE PLUTO ALONE! You don’t know what it’s been through! You don’t know what it’s like to be a floating mass in the outskirts of a solar system. You don’t know, do you? With all your scientific methods, and measurement scales and whatnot, you really don’t know what it’s like to be a planet. So, leave pluto alone! I mean, let him join the rest of planets like in the good old days. Can’t we just get back to being a good and happy solar system, like we used to?

leave pluto alone!

If you’re seeking after enlightenment, this is where it’s at!

buddha

buddha

Over 2.500 years ago, a single man succeeded in demonstrating the world the wonders that could be achieving through by yielding the mortal aspects of our being and embracing the bliss that comes naturally with pure being. In this enlightenment of sorts, the Buddha provided us with a most noble legacy, which many of us still embrace and uphold.

Some of us seek after true enlightenment by getting void of desire, some of us cleanse their bring from material attachments, and then some of us do it by getting a new set of Hinkley Lighting` for the living room. Do you think that’s odd? Go figure… could just be that so-called enlightenment is just a matter of perspective, after all. Consider this.

The Great Ronald Jenkees: showing us all what music is really about!

admin September 24th, 2008

In your opinion, what does it take to become a great musician? When faced with such question, most people will be likely to say something like “getting appropriate musical education”, “learning how to read musical scores” and “mastering a musical instrument”. Well, even though such things are undoubtedly important, they’re quite likely second to something else: free-flow feeling. This is why there are certain performers who are capable of reaching out into the hearts of the viewers, even though their technique isn’t remarkably impressive, nor their musical background so vast.

I’m talking about the kind of musicians who play out their enjoyment in musical format, and quite often these are the types of people who achieve the most engaging melodies. Well, Ronald Jenkees is definitely such a person, and you don’t have to take my word for that. Just watch the videos I’ve embedded into this post, and when you’re through there’s a good chance what I’ve just written will make a lot more sense.

There’s more to paintball than fun and games!

admin September 22nd, 2008

Hello children of the internet, and welcome. Today’s subject is none other than paintball, that noble and modern art of using make-believe weapons of fire to inflict colorful, but all the while annoying wounds upon other people, in a kaleidoscopic representation of how war still sores when it’s make-believe. Similar to how there’s more to modern art than what meets the eye - with all its blotches and splatters - there’s a lot more to paintball than what meets the eye… or the tummy and chest and all over the place, so HEADS UP!

Why, sorry … I always get excited when discussing this subject matter. Well, sometimes I do, or at least now I just did. Well anyways, and by going further on the present exhibition, I’ll subsequently proceed to demonstrate just how paintall - that suble colorful etecetera et. al - can be quite romantic and endearing. Granted, in most circumstances it’s usually and notoriously quite the sadistic passtime, but what would we make out of life without a little suffering? We crave those unpleasant sours (such as getting hit by a splattering paint ball in just about the wrong place) because they preset our taste buds to enjoy the sweets of life with undivided enjoyment, isn’t that so?

What? Enough with dissertation, you just want some action? Allrighty then, grab yourself one of these fine, top-notch spyder paintball guns, and play hard ball all you like… just remind yourself that like any sport, paintball should be all about having fun. Well, that and punishing your friends for all the accumulated daily grind stress. Ah, the beauty in sports and friendships, isn’t life grand!
