If you think that people are only able to live underwater in comic books and bad sci-fi movies, think again. The bloke pictured above is Mr. Gobson, an irreverent Australian marine biologist who amazed the whole world last year, when he spent nearly two weeks living in a underwater box, with nothing but seaweeds for both nourishment and extra oxygen supply.
What he was doing to keep himself entertained for such an extended period we can only guess. Myself, I can only picture him staring at his fancy Technomarine watch waiting for time to pass, and wondering why he didn’t think the whole thing through before he went down and undersea. I mean… granted, underwater landscapes are obviously beautiful, but even the most beautiful prison is still essentially a means of entrapment - wouldn’t you agree?
