How Water Intake Reduces Anxiety

Water is life. Without water no living creature will be able to survive. Water is the thing that sets this planet apart from others making it capable of supporting life. But water is not just life sustaining, it can be a great anxiety reliever. Coping with anxiety is no easy task but it is not impossible. All it takes is having the right attitude and knowledge to combat this modern-day malaise.

Simple as drinking water

Whether you believe it or not, anxiety is greatly reduced by drinking the right amount of water each day. It may sound so simple, but the truth of the matter is that anxiety is indeed pushed down when you are hydrated enough. Perhaps there is no quicker method in keeping anxiety down other than a glass of water. It is easily administered and you need no medical background to give this first aid to someone suffering from an anxiety attack. It is cheap and easily available. It is the perfect remedy to bring down and effectively cope with anxiety.

Why is it so?

Water is known to be an effective delivery system for hormones. It can also carry chemical messages and nutrients to the vital organs and tissues of the body. Lack of water may negatively impact our health which includes our own feelings and may cause some anxiety.

Water gives relief from hangovers

Perhaps you have heard about water being an effective relief for hangover, right? Some of the hangover that you have experience may be due to electrolyte imbalance or dehydration. There is no doubt dehydration can be a contributing factor that could exacerbate anxiety and could result to an anxiety attack.

Good fluids are the best cure

Often times when we are having a bad hangover we would gulp down lime soda or some seltzer. Sometimes we would go for some green tea served either hot or cold. It is important that you choose the correct fluids to make you less jittery. Water being the most pure form of liquid tops the bill. It is the best candidate to correct imbalances and to hydrate your body back to normal.

Stay away from unhelpful fluids

Fluids that is unable to hydrate you such as regular soda and some sugary fruit juice would not help you one bit. Besides, the sugar on those drinks may make you more anxious. If you find it hard to resist the urge of drinking a sweetened beverage, better learn how to prepare fresh fruit juices. It only takes a blender or a juicer and some of your favorite fruits. But, the fact still remains that nothing beats the power of water to cleanse our body and clear our mind. Plain water would spare us from the adverse effects of sweet and colored beverages.

Drink enough water

Medical professionals would advise to drink at least eight glasses of water every day. However that it is the standard. To fully determine how much you really need to drink each day is to get your weight and divide it by two. The result if the number of ounces of water that you need to drink each day. So a 200-pound man needs to drink 100 ounces of water every 24 hours. This is much more than the recommended eight glasses of water a day.

Drinking water
is vital to your health. If we remain dehydrated there are more chances that we can be anxious. This imbalance will be perceived as a threat to the body’s survival which can cause undue bouts of anxiety. Do not wait for your body to manifest early signs of dehydration such as having dry lips and yellowish urine. Drink more so your body will have the right amount of fluids that it needs to get you running smoothly. Remember to keep your body hydrated at all times.
