You May Have to Sell Your House to Afford Just One Night in Any of These Hotel Rooms

Hotel rooms can be pricey at the best of times, especially if you’re looking for all the added extras and a view that isn’t of a car park or a brick wall. However, some hotel rooms go way, way beyond the budget of most average mortals and are available only to those privileged few rock stars, celebrities and the uber rich who can pay the hefty price tag.

Although the chances of winning the lottery are currently around 1 in 14 million and long lost relatives with millions to leave in inheritance tend to be rare these days, a guy or gal can still dream. Just in case your numbers do come up, here are some of the world’s most expensive hotel rooms on which you might like to splash your newly acquired cash.

Las Vegas – Palms Casino Resort

The World's 5 Most Expensive Hotel Rooms

With a frankly jaw dropping price tag of around £25,000 a night, the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa at the Palms Casino hotel in Las Vegas is definitely up there as one of the most expensive hotel rooms in the world. What do you get for your money? Well, there’s a rotating bed, indoor waterfall (presumably created to the design of those in the Playboy Mansion), a hot tub with room for 8 bunnies, and a giant infinity pool overlooking Vegas (with the Playboy logo on the bottom). Definitely one for those with a ridiculously healthy bank account.

Paris – Four Seasons George V

At a slightly more modest £10,000 a night you can occupy the decadent Royal Suite at the George V in Paris, which is conveniently located just off the Champs Elysees in the heart of the luxury shopping district. Whilst there may not be an indoor waterfall, the suite has an abundance of precious antique furniture (perhaps sat on by George V himself…), a sauna, separate office and powder rooms, and lots and lots of expensive marble.

Moscow – The Ritz-Carlton

The World's 5 Most Expensive Hotel Rooms

Just under £12,000 a night will buy you accommodation in Moscow in the Ritz-Carlton suite of the Ritz-Carlton hotel, an opulent and luxurious 2,550 square foot space, with some of the best hotel room views in the whole of Russia. Looking right out over Red Square, the suite also has its own library for the avid readers amongst the super rich, as well as a piano for those who fancy tinkling the ivories under the gaze of the basilica. Unusually for a super expensive establishment, the price also includes five meals a day, which seems rather good value when compared to the other most expensive hotel rooms of the world…

The Bahamas – Atlantis Resort

The World's 5 Most Expensive Hotel Rooms

If you have just under £16,000 a night in your holiday accommodation budget then the Bridge Suite at the Atlantis is the perfect option for some sun, sea, sand and serious luxury. The suite includes a whopping ten different rooms and comes with its own set of staff, including a butler and a chef. As if all that wasn’t enough, anyone who rents out the Bridge Suite will be sleeping in the same bed that was once occupied by the likes of Michael Jackson and Oprah Winfrey.

Athens – Grand Resort Lagonissi

The World's 5 Most Expensive Hotel Rooms

For a cool £31,000 a night you can occupy the Royal Villa at the Grand Resort in Lagonissi, which has more then 12,000 square feet of luxurious space, as well as its own private beach to keep its fabulously wealthy occupants from being spied on by prying eyes. Of course there’s a private heated pool and a steam room at the villa, which also comes with staff such as a butler, chef and – most importantly for those relaxing evening cocktail hours – a pianist (and piano).

Whilst these luxurious pads might be out of reach for most of us, it’s always good to know what’s out there – after all, who knows where the next lottery ticket could take you..
