Jackie Stallone: The Trout Pout Controversy

Plastic surgery has become a way of life for many people in the entertainment businesses who are obsessed with retaining a youthful appearance. In some cases, such as Michael Jackson, the results of too many surgeries can leave a person almost unrecognizable when compared to earlier photographs. Jackie Stallone, a prominent astrologer and the mother of successful actor Sylvester Stallone, is well-known for her love of plastic surgery, and this recently led to some confusion on the red carpet at the premiere for The Expendables 2.

Jackie Stallone: The Trout Pout Controversy

On August 16, 2012, a woman who reportedly identified herself as Jackie Stallone was photographed exhibiting the results of an extreme lip job. Her lips were so excessively large that the media instantly dubbed her look as the trout pout, and the photos were widely published. Five days later, the Huffington Post broke the story that the trout pout did not actually belong to Jackie Stallone. Instead, the owner of those inflated lips is Ivone Weldon. Ivone’s son, Les Weldon, is the producer of The Expendables 2. This media gaffe has many shaking their heads, especially because some news sources had even mentioned that Stallone should be considering a medical malpractice suit. However, the fact that so many people instantly believed that Weldon was Stallone does illustrate just how common it is for her to go under the knife.

Stallone’s Plastic Surgeries

Although there is not an official list published of all of Stallone’s plastic surgeries, those who specialize in such things are easily able to determine what type of work has been done. Experts have stated that Stallone has undergone work on her eyes along with multiple lip injections and facelifts. Her doppelganger Weldon has also had a lot of work done and was perhaps even inspired by Stallone. After all, the two women are strikingly similar in appearance.

The Many Eccentricities of Jackie Stallone

Although it certainly is not necessary to have an eccentric personality to enjoy plastic surgery, Stallone’s almost larger than life persona also helps to explain why the media did not take any time to fact check the trout pout photos. Stallone is an astrologer who freely admits that she consults with dogs to help her predict the future. Rather than stick to traditional fortune-telling tactics such as palm reading, she practices a rather unusual technique known as rumpology. As you can probably imagine, rumpology involves replacing reading a person’s palm with reading their behind. Stallone also has a colorful background that actually includes running away from home with the successful intention of joining a circus. It is clear that Stallone’s 90 years have been filled with more anecdotes than most people would find by looking through their entire family history.

Plastic Surgery Obsession

There is many reasons that people choose to visit a plastic surgeon. The mostly unspoken truth about Hollywood is that the vast majority of celebrities have had at least a bit of work done. The difference between them and someone like Stallone, however, is that she has seemingly become addicted to the entire process. The desire to look young is definitely where her obsession began, but after years of undergoing various procedures it is now becoming difficult to recognize her while comparing then and now photos. On the plus side, everyone in the entertainment industry knows that press is all that matters, and her love of plastic surgery has ensured that everyone knows her name.
