Last Thursday was a very stressful day for me, from the moment I have opened my eyes until I finished my work at the office it felt like years have passed, not hours. The morning started with my son’s waking up with a sore throat. Grandma came to babysit, while I drove my daughter to school. I was late for work. A tower of paperwork was piled on my desk. At lunch, I spilled coffee on my shirt. I conducted a meeting wearing a stained shirt. My supervisor rejected my report. By day’s end, I wanted to run for the hills.
I really needed to take a break. Luckily, a kind friend offered to take my daughter home after school, it felt like he saved my life. After a bad day like this one, I’d like to relax and go shopping. I can clear my head while pretending I am a fashion model.
On this particular day, I happened to walk by an unfamiliar store. Somehow I’ve never noticed this one before… Just as I was about to pass by, the door suddenly opened. Tempting aromas of lavender and rosemary drew me into the shop.
I was astonished at the sense of peace and tranquility that washed over me. The soothing energy in the store was amazing. Angelic music pulsed like a heartbeat in the background. I could feel my muscles magically relax and I felt like I’m lying on a big cloud, with no problems or worries. This is my moment, I figured out and started to enjoy every second of it.
A salesperson gently offered to give me a tour. Silvery wind chimes twirled from the ceiling. Angels and fairies stood guard over statues of dragons and other mythological creatures. The book section offered volumes on a range of metaphysical topics. Tarot card sets were arranged in intricate patterns. A velvet covered table was stocked with candles in an amazing array of shapes and sizes.
A good portion of the new age store was devoted to clothing and accessories imported from all around the world. Native baskets held a rainbow of belly dance scarves. I immediately fell in love with the Indian cotton shirts and skirts. They will make a stylish addition to my summer wardrobe. I couldn’t resist buying comfortable hemp pants for my yoga practice. Brightly striped cotton pants will make a great birthday present for my husband. I can’t wait to try the henna tattoo kit with my daughter and her friends.
A fascinating display of crystals was arranged in an inviting corner of the shop. The beautiful stones seemed to give off soothing vibrations. I hope that my new amethyst cluster will bring serenity to my desk. I also found essential oils to use on stressful days. I chose lavender oil to relax and tangerine oil to energize. These will do magic at home!
The store offered a variety of metaphysical classes and alternative healing services. I signed up for a class on crystal healing. I didn’t buy a tarot card reading because I know that stress is in my future. Now, however, I can visit my healing oasis at the new age shop and find peace and fashion bliss.
On my way home, I was thinking about how such small things like crystals or oils can make a person forget all troubles and problems! When the day started I thought there is no chance it will finish this good. But it did. Feel happy I noticed this store today and didn’t just passed by like I did before.
