We have recently been invited to review the latest and greatest on-line visual clipboard website: Clipix. Since here are Slices of Life we like keeping an eye out for new Internet trend, this article came quite naturally. For anyone who’s looking to know what is a visual clipboard good for, and specifically to all who are curious to know more about clipix; this article aims to be a reference compiling all the relevant information. What exactly is clipix?

Simply put, Clipix is an on-line vision board website. And simple is the keyword, here: you won’t take more than 5 minutes to learn how to use it, which in our opinion is a good thing. You can use this free tool to organize your thoughts, ideas and inspirations into vision boards. Whether it’s a funny picture you want to save for later, an interesting article or a piece of tech you’re doing comparison shopping on. You can easily share your clipboards with your friends, or otherwise you have the option to keep them private. If you choose to share a clip board, you have the option of turning it into a sync-board, which means the person you share with will be allowed to add new content to the board. The Clipix website integrates instantly with your existing social networks, either for sharing your clip boards or even to sign up to the website. If you already have a twitter or facebook account, you can just integrate Clipix into it – no need to bother typing in all your personal details all over again.

How does Clipix work?

After you create your Clipix account or log in directly with your Facebook or Twitter account, creating clipboards is simple and intuitive enough. You do it by dragging a bookmark from their website to your bookmarks bar. That’s all it takes! Then you go back to your regular day-to-day browsing, and whenever you find something interesting – whether a picture, text, or video – you just hit the “Clip” bookmark and that’s that: pick a clip board from the floating menu (or create a new one on the fly), and you’re good to go!

Whenever you come back to your account in the Clipix website, all your clipboards will be neatly organized, and you will get to easily edit them and swap clips between them or share them with your friends and colleagues. You can also combine several boards into multi-boards, which can actually be a great visual way to gather your thoughts or research together. Alternatively to using the “Clip” bookmark, you can also get the Clipix app for the iPhone and iPad… which needless to say is beyond convenient. Hopefully, an Android app will be released soon! What is Clipix good for?

It depends on who you are and what you like doing, but there are as many uses for clip boards as there are uses for imagination. Some obvious examples include For fun; you can use clip boards as a simple and convenient way to organize funny pics, interesting recipes, or any inspirational tidbits you want to keep track of, or easily share with your friends later. For research; whether you’re a student preparing a report or a professional doing research for a book or any kind of project – Clipix can be of use, since it’s so simple, convenient and non-obstrustive. You just hit the “Clip” button while doing your usual research, and organizing all those pieces of information really gets simpler. For Work; you can use clip boards to organize your business plans, share data with clients and co-workers, or even organize private data such as earning reports and intel on the competition. For Comparisson Shopping; if you like comparing prices while shopping on-line, you probably look at several websites and soon have difficulties keeping track of everything… unless you just add each website to an appropriately titled clip board, for convenient future reference.
