When you’re heading to a music festival, there’s more you need than the obvious list of; sleeping bags, beer and wellington boots. There are some other accessories which will make your experience this year even better than any before it, so have a read and then get buying!

1. Folding Deck Chair

Don’t underestimate the awesomeness of this accessory when you’re hungover in the morning and you want to sit on something other than the muddy grass. Taking a folding deck chair means you have something to sit on other than the wet grass (and it will probably rain – so this is important) and it means you’ll have somewhere to sit whilst you eat too.

2. Portable Speakers

When you set up camp during a festival you’ll often be quite far away from the music stages and during times when you’re chilling near your tent, or when you’r relaxing in the morning you’ll still probably want some music going to keep everyone happy. You can buy some cheap battery powered, portable speakers from nearly all electrical shops within a small budget, so there is no excuse not to buy them!

3. A torch

For walking back during those late nights, a good torch is super important so you don’t end up getting into someone else tent. Which could be embarrassing!

4. Flying Sky Lanterns

These beautiful paper lanterns can be lit and then let go of at night time to create a beautiful memory. You’ll have to check that they are allowed in the area your festival is held (the general rule, is to check you’re not near an airport) but if they are allowed then this is such a lovely idea and an awesome thing to do as a group.

5. Rain Poncho

Anyone who goes to a festival without a rain poncho is just asking for trouble. You can buy little ponchos that fold up to wallet size for about £5, so you can even pack one without worrying about space either! Knowing you have something waterproof stuffed in your pocket will be such a relief if the clouds open in the middle of an outdoor concert!

6. Novelty Hats

Because they are funny and there’s nothing better for starting conversations with new people than the wacky and weird. Go for some cheesy pirate hats, or maybe some cool winter hats if it’s cold.

7. Instant hand warmers

These little things are great for those cold nights or rainy days. When things get cold and wet during festivals we just crave a nice warm camp fire. However if a camp fire isn’t a possibility then these disposable little hand warmers are great. Just pop them in your pockets for instant results!

8. Solar-Powered festival Shower

These things are great for those of us that like to kep clean when at festivals. Simply leave it out in the sun for a few hours while you watch some performances then come back to your tent, hang it up and enjoy! This is a really good solution to the cleanliness problem festivals often bring!

9. Portable mobile phone charge

This great little device charges up your mobile phone, transferring the power from normal AA batteries to your phone battery. It’s great for a quick emergency charge, and something that all festival goers should be buying.

10. Glow in the dark bracelets!

Do I really need to explain why you should be taking these? They’re a festival staple and a continued favourite among festival goers.
