The declaration of Independence: we the people of America.
If we think of the United States of America as a nation that was created by people coming from all the other nations in the old world, filled with hopes and dreams to make a better world – then the declaration of Independence must be perceived as an extremely important document, regardless of whether you’re an American citizen. This document summarizes the noble aspirations of the founding fathers of America, as well as their vision to build the land of opportunities.
Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
Most people assume the declaration of American independence was written by Thomas Jefferson, and they are mostly right.
However, it should be noted that a committee was appointed to write the declaration, of which Jefferson was merely the spokesperson.
They were a total of five men from the Constitutional Convention, and besides Jefferson this group included: Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, Robert R. Livingston and John Adams.
Together, they were known as the Declaration Committee.

It was Jefferson who conceived the first draft of the document, which was then lightly edited by Franklin and Adams. They turned it over to the Congress, which applied considerable changes and proposed substantial rephrasings and rewordings before the document was finally approved in its final version that we are all familiar with:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
