Phobia of flying? Learn how to overcome the fear of flying!

Hello there! You know I’m the kind of guy whose head is always up in the clouds, so I decided I’d celebrate with an appropriate post. With that in (absent-)mind, here’s a funny video I just found on Aviatophobia, or phobia of flight:

Well, I guess… if you’re actually afraid of flying, this video might not be so funny, I suppose. Sorry about that! don’t suppose I can do much to help you get a better sense of humor, but! I know about a couple of programs aimed at helping people like you deal with your phobia of flying.

Now, these are mostly digital guides and I’m not going to say they’re guaranteed to cure phobia of flight. I really don’t know, because for one I really love flying. What I do know is that these e-books are getting quite successful among people with fear of flying, so… that must imply they’re not completely ineffective, right? Here goes,

  1. The fear of flying handbook.
  2. The take off today! Program.
  3. Overcome your fear of flying.

Also, keep in mind: even if these e-books don’t help you learn how to overcome the fear of flying, at least there’s a chance they’ll keep you distracted during your next flight. And if you doesn’t work, at least you can get your money back! I hope you find something in there that helps you conquer your fears and be happier.

Oh, by the way: if you get one of these digital guides on how to overcome the fear of flying, let us know how it worked out for you! I would very much appreciate a small review via the comments box down there will be most helpful to people who have the same problem. Okay?

Now, since I want to finish this post with an upbeat tone, I’ll leave you with some FREE advice on conquering that fear of flying:

  • Flying isn’t really dangerous.  Crashing is what’s really dangerous.
  • The only time you have too much fuel is when you’re suddenly on fire.
  • When in doubt, hold on to your altitude.  After all, no one has ever collided with the sky.
  • The probability of surviving is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival.  Large angle of arrival, small probability of survival – and vice versa.
  • It’s always better to be down here wishing you were up there, than up there wishing you were down here.
  • Every takeoff is optional.  Every landing is mandatory.
  • If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger.  If you pull the stick back, they get smaller.  That is, unless you keep pulling the stick back – then they get bigger again.
  • The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool.  When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.
  • Learn from the mistakes of others.  You won’t live long enough to make all of them yourself.
  • Reliable sources also report that mountains have been known to hide out in clouds.
  • Always try to keep the number of landings you make equal to the number of takeoffs you’ve made.
  • Good judgment comes from experience.   Unfortunately, experience usually come from bad judgment.

Finally, here’s a nice cartoon showing some good reasons why we ALL should indeed be afraid of flying:
