Earth4Energy Review: Superb or Scam? It’s all a matter of perspective.
+

In the past few months, the whole wide Internet went rampant with buzz around an innovative DIY guide to building solar panels. This guide is getting hugely popular (over 5,000 copies sold each month – and rising), and some people worry it may be a scam. Well, since I can’t put my analytical mind to rest and I”m a big adept of debunking, I thought I’d get my hands dirty and provide my dear readers with the lowown. I managed to sweet-talk the published to let me see a review copy of Earth4Energy, so you can rest assured I’ll be giving you the full scoop… and nothing but the scoop . So, here goes:
Beware !!! Earth4Energy is a SCAM!!
Lol, actually I just felt like starting off with a sensationalist headline. Truth be told, I’ve both analyzed the actual product and did extensive research on the surrounding marketing hype, and there are good news and bad news. You see, there are volumes of people who swear this is the next best thing in DIY renewal energy. But there’s also a considerable amount of individuals who swear this is actually a scam aimed at ripping off gullible consumers. Well, in my opinion it’s both. How is that even possible? Well, read on and find out the truth… and nothing but the truth.
Think of it this way: if you’re an experienced engineer with lots of background knowledge in renewable energies, you won’t enjoy Earth4Energy. You’ll think it’s too shallow and not detailed enough. Conversely, if you ‘re absolutely clueless about the technicalities involved in setting up a solar panel, you’ll love it! Personally, I’m the kind of guy who can’t really tell my watts from my volts, and yet after reading this Earth4Energy guide and watching the videos, I’m very confident I could actually set up a working solar panel. The instructions are pretty clear, the videos have quite decent production values. This product could very well be called “DIY solar panel 4 dummies“.
Are you the kind of person who can benefit from Earth4Energy? (I am!)
For the sake of making a decent review, I invited two friends over to provide me with their unbiased opinion of Earth4Energy, so I could make a solid review. Both these guys are renewable energy enthusiasts, but one is very techical minded (an engineer, actually) and the other is… well, he’s an english teacher. Their reactions were pretty much aligned with my expectations: the engineer said that Earth4Energy was a big fat rip-off. The professor told me he was blown away with all the information, and would start building his own solar panel that very day. Of course I didn’t give him my review copy (that would be unethical of me) but he agreed that $47 was a reasonable price for all that information, so I merrily dispatched him to the Earth4Energy official website.
In my own opinion there is but one major sin to Earth4Energy. In a way it’s understandable, but I think this product would do even better if they didn’t went so overboard in their marketing pitch. But then again, I’m no marketing expert so I may be wrong on this call.
As you might have noticed by now (if you’ve read the sales pitch on the official Earth4Energy) website), the author sometimes makes some rather inflated claims and tries to convince potential customers they can easily go off-grid with solar panels, and save thousands of dollars… you know, that sort of thing.
According to my engineer friend, that’s really not possible unless you either a) build LOTS of solar panels (at least double what would fit in a regular sized roof), or b) happen to live in a tropical region with LOTS of solar exposition. Otherwise, you’ll unlikely go off-grid by setting up your solar panels.
What you’ll certainly achieve by following the earth4energy DIY solar panel guide is 1) noticeable savings in your energy bill, 2) get a wonderful feeling of satisfaction from building an actual, working solar panel and 3) the reassurance of setting up your own personal private alternative to public energy, while making your little contribution towards a greener world.
Which in my opinion is really not bad at all!

Okay, you’re probably growing weary of my wordiness at this point, so I’ll just round up this Earth4Energy review with some topics – both good and bad, of course. Here goes:
What’s bad, ugly and dirty about Earth4Energy:
- Despite being a good product, the sales page sometimes overdoes on the marketing hype.
- Ocasionally it promises the moon and stars, but all it delivers is practical hands-on knowledge to BUILD solar panels.
- There are some inflated claims in the sales pitch that might avert the more intelligent readers.
- For anyone who ALREADY knows how to build a solar panel, there’s not much to learn from this product.
- Most of the information in this guide can be found for free on the Internet, if you put in the time and effort. But if you think about it…almost everything can be learnt for free on the internet, from speaking french to building a nuclear contraption. Regardless, it doesn’t mean a good guide isn’t a good investment:
Purchasing a guide is a way of making a compromise with yourself that you will dedicate yourself to learning a new skill, and it’s definitely a good way of getting all the information you need to actually start learning something without getting side-tracked in your learning process. That said, I’ll now present you with:
What’s good, awe-inspiring and totally impressive about Earth4Energy:
- Reasonable price (less than $50). For this money you’ll get a LOT of materials, and all the right guidance.
- Good design and engaging writing. Includes lots of full-color diagrams. You won’t get bored reading this guide.
- Includes a good assortment of videos which neatly compliment the information in the actual guide.
- Includes additional sections that teach you how to build a wind turbine. Nice Bonus!
- It even provides information on how to use your newly-created solar panels and wind turbines to get a IRS tax rebate.
- Instant download. Since this is digital product, you get access immediately after you pay; no waiting for delivery.
- Customer support. The publisher is rather friendly, and he supports his customers via e-mail.
- Free access to product updates and revisions, and 60-day money back guarantee.
