Finding a reliable printing service can be instrumental to ensure an event’s success!

Last weekend was amazing, not THE best weekend ever but pretty much in my personal top. In case you’re wondering, I visited an itinerant art festival near the city I live. In fact, more than just visit I was part of the organization… and today I’m about to tell you about my role in making this event a success, thanks to well-thought advertisements and a reliable online-based printing service.

Granted, the main reason most visitors clearly enjoyed this event was so sucessful was because the quality of the exhibitions and performances was indeed very high. However, if it wasn’t for our publicity sheme, there would probably be much less people in there -since there wouldn’t be much ways for them to know about the event. And in my opinion, the main ingredient to success was in this case diversity; besides the usual flyers and invitations, we started our marketing efforts with over 1 month in advance, with a series of sticky artistic teasers that were placed all around the city. To the effect of handling our mailing list, we also got ourselves reams of custom envelopes (in batches with several different pictures next to the event’s logo) and a bunch of those little fridge magnets every likes… and by now you must be thinking “whoa doing all that must have burned a hefty budget” but that’s just the cool thing about it: it really didn’t.

You see, this event was organized by art students from different cities… so advertisement budget was by no means impressive. In fact, when we first contacted a local printing service, we were all a little dismayed that we could afford so little stuff, advertisement-wise. Well, just then I thought of checking out a good online printing service, reasoning they might be able to provide us with more competitive prices. And I’m quite happy to say this was probably one of the best ideas I’ve had in a long time!

ravers

My role in the organization was helping the technical / informatic side of the event, and I’m proud to say I found a single website that was most instrumental to helping us succeed. I was already familiar with Vistaprint, but it wasn’t until I ordered a couple thousand invitations , custom envelopes and teasers (such as the one up the) for this event that I realized just how it’s important to rely upon a service that besides being effective and quick, also offers highly competitive prices. Everyone in the event’s organization was a little nervous with the idea of ordering invitations online, but judging from customer reviews we decided to take the chance… and looking in perspective, we’re all definitely glad we did!
