I’m usually not the kind of person to go around following trends just for the sake of “belonging”, or anything like that. Regardless, I do enjoy keeping up with the latest novelties, particularly when it’s concerned with new and fascinating internet applications /utilities. Simply put, this is a free service where users are invited to constantly broadcast their thoughts (tweets), by answering the perennial question “what are you doing now?” – using no more than 140 characters at a time. Well, the way I see it, Twitter is pretty like a public, internet-based SMS service.

While in essence using Twitter it’s not unlike scribbling on a public wall, the really cool thing about it is that it’s grown into a drastically popular public wall – Which is both a good and bad thing, depending how you look at it. But, rather than forcing you to read my babbling in order to ascertain the nature of the tweet, I’ve rounded up 4 videos that should be watched by novice and experienced twitter user alike:

With a style reminiscent to that video about the dude who could catch sunglasses with his face, here’s another video that will problably bring about a bunch of “ooohs” and “ahhs” from the crowd. This time around, it looks like two Russian friends teamed up with their favored national alcoholic beverage to bring about previously unexploited levels of vodka-flavored coolness. Well, naturally there’s a good chance this video is a result of some rather clever and ingenious video editing + visual effects, but I guess there’s no point dwielling in such thoughts… after all life can be so much more interesting when one is able to suspend his disbelief every once in a while, right?

In fact, life can be remarkably enticing when you suceed in suspending your vodka along with your disbelief in mid-air, as to effectively gulp in down in a swift motion… like this:

It was while revisiting this juvenile full-motion video exploitation of an urban statue from back-where-I-come-from that I’ve come across this intriguing slideshow featuring some of the most innovative and (sometimes literally) off-the-wall sculptures that anyone could possibly think of. I’m still gasping with some of the extreme statues displayed upon this feature, so you’ll excuse me that I won’t elongate my reasoning, better yet would you just watch for yourself:

Now that I’ve released my own daily webcomic (in another website I’ll tell you about sometime), I’ve been getting progressively drawn into the webcomics scene. And I must say… there are some real classy displays of webcomics-try out there, so I figured I might as well start reviewing some of those. With that in mind, I’ll start by telling you about a nice and shiny example of fine online cartoonism, which is known throughout the Internet as “The Urf.”

As you can see, this is indeed a strange universe. Most of the comics in The Urf focus those litlle colorful and pituresque details that make this hypotethical land quite so ever intriguing. There’s already a good deal of posts in the archives, and I’ve decided to pick some of my favorite specimens to illustrate my point – rather than indulging a pointless rant. Hope you’ll enjoy!
