I feel there are two choices, when it comes to computer software. I mean, there are a lot of programs you can choose from, but when you think about it, there are really two options: You can opt for using free open-source software which works great but implies a steeper learning curve, or you can choose commercial software which is more costly but also easier to handle (since it’s more widespread and common and there are more people available with experience using it).
