Badvertisements 1 : Ads I really don’t get!

Within the crowded modern markets, modern market-ists certainly don’t have it easy. There’s so much information going around, so many people trying to sell their thing and build their profit, that sometimes advertisers engage some desperate stunts to try and stand out from the crowd. Needless to say, in certain occasions some ads effectively succeed in doing so, but for all the wrong reasons.

real juicy beef

Have you ever come across a publicity that left you utterly puzzled and confused, all the while thinking “Were they actually trying to sell me on something or just chase me away? Are they trying to confuse me?”.

I certainly have thought so, and in fact it’s been happening so often that I decided to put together a list of my favorite BADVERTISEMENTS out there, so you can take your best shot at guessing what the hell it’s all about.

Let’s start with this bunch from OSO, a brand of food wrap. Okay, so they’re trying to tell us that if we don’t buy their product… our food will try to do stupid things? Shouldn’t the slogan read “If you don’t buy this, your food will try to kill itself in moronic fashion!”, or something like that? I’m really lost, here.

Want to help make a happy Christmas? Check the Payatas!

Good news, everyone! If you’re looking for a worthwhile charitable cause to donate some money this Christmas, I’ve just learned about something that might be perfect for you: Christmas For Payatas. As you might have heard, many people are banding together to support this charity and to help those kids. I’m leaving you with a video and the official press release, so you can make an informed decision.

The landfill in Payatas, The Philippines, is notoriously known the world over as Smokey Mountain. For over 35 years, the smoking dump site has grown to become a stark and heart-tugging reminder of the desperate onditions of humanity.

On a daily basis, children pick through newly arrived garbage to
collect material to sell. The earnings made by one child are not enough to even buy food for the day. Hence, entire families are forced to climb the mountain each day, hoping to earn enough to feed everyone. Children as young as four years old are forced to work in this daily struggle for survival.

In response to the plight of these children, Totedaddy.com is working with Lighthouse Center For Children Foundation to bring a little cheer to the children this Christmas.

Totedaddy.com has kicked off with a cash sponsorship of USD 10,000 to enable the children to celebrate Christmas. FusionExcel International has also pitched in a USD 5,000 in cash sponsorship. The money raised
will help fund the projects already in place, and help fund additional projects aimed at providing better housing, and a means of livelihood for the Payatas community.

It is hoped that by creating better awareness to the plight of these children, more support can be garnered towards their betterment. Together we can bury poverty!

The amazingly drowsy little dog!

Aw… just look at the cute little thing! Somehow I can almost tell what’s going through its mind, though… that’s the feeling you usually get after living through a hard day’s night. It’s a very brave puppy, but I think it might as well take a nap and finishing doing his work in the morning… which is just what I’m about to do, myself. Thanks for the inspiration, little buddy!
