Cord Blood Banking: A simple reminder that could make a life of difference.

I hate it when people try to make things simpler than they really are… but I think it’s even worse when people try to make something unnecessarily complicated. Let’s face it, genetics is a complex issue, thriving with moral dilemmas, perhaps even more so than scientific technicalities. Oftentimes, when faced with arguments concerning the kind of modern developments that cause many people to passionately debate whether it’s okay for man to play god, the same thought occurs to me: such arguments are utterly pointless.
In my opinion, it’s pointless to debate whether man should have been granted the intelligence to achieve such and such. When something has happened, it’s pointless to debate whether it should have happened: up from that point, it’s a matter of making the best out of it. So, it’s better to learn how to take the best advantage of a certain technology and/or cientific breakthrough, rather than discarding it as ideologically wrong and hope it will go away… because it won’t.
Point of case, I’m here to discuss what in my opinion is quite a positive by-product of the astounding developments our society has achieved, as far as genetics are concerned. You might have heard about something called cord blood banking; simply put, this is a technique which revolves around the preservation of cells from a newborn baby.
Such cells can be used throughout the life of that newborn to treat a vast number of diseases – some of which would be otherwise incurable and most of which would be dead serious. I don’t know about you, but when/if I help breathe a new life into this world, I’ll do my best to preserve such life, and from within the particular set of space/time coordinates we’re living through, cord blood banking seems like one of the most cutting edge ways of preserving life yet to be born.
During yet another one of those pointless debates in genetics that I seem to oftentimes find myself caught upon, someone mentioned the name of this company… Cryo-Cell and I figured I’d look it up, to get a feel of the how’s and why’s of the contemporary cord blood banking companies. Well, it turns out this service is still somewhat expensive, but it’s definitely a good investment, for those who can afford it.
Yeah, I know… the whole “not everyone can afford it” reasoning would be likely to take us deep into another line of argument focusing the darker side of the issue, but please… let’s not get into that, right now. Let’s not try and make a better world, let’s just try and make the best out of the world we have now. For anyone who’s interested, this company provides several Pricing/Financing options, as well as a panoply of Current Offers that could help ease the monetary constraints associated with this practice.
Yeah, it might not really come across like something big, from the present date and time… but I’m telling you, I cannot help but imagine that a little stray bit of argument lost in cyberspace can provide the seeds from which decisions will be made… life-altering decisions. Have you considered preserving your unborn child’s cord blood? Have you realized that despite the forbidding cost of doing so, you might some day look back and say “I’m glad I chose to throw that money away back then, because right now it will allow me to save the life of my children”.
You know, life is a lottery and you never know what you’ll get further ahead, but truth of the matter is… we can help but wonder. Each passing moment is a blessed chance to make a brand new choice, and sometimes a choice we make today can bring us wonderful fruits in the future.
