ArborSculpture, teaching the art of Shaping Trees!

There’s something amazing about trees, and I don’t mean the fact they help recycle our atmosphere. I also don’t mean to point how their unique patience and zen-like lifestyle (I mean have you ever thought how some trees live hundreds of years in the exact same spot, and they never seem to grow tired of it). Today I’m here to tell you about the versatility and flexibility of trees.

Did you know it’s possible to create actual arboreal sculptures by encouraging trees to grow in a certain way? I’d heard of techniques that allow creating a natural cane by tying a tree branch into the proper shape, and letting it grow that way. However, just now I was browsing through the ArborSmith website, and I learned about other sophisticated techniques that allow to create amazing artworks with trees… provided there’s enough ability and patience – this is not about forcing the trees to assume a particular shape, it’s about encouraging growth.

If you want to learn some neat techniques for shaping trees into benches, canes, or even a peace sign, I’m sure you’ll find this resource quite fascinating and possibly inspiring. Enjoy your time in nature… and be kind with trees.
