DIGG the poet or BURY the procrastinator: what will YOU choose?

admin April 30th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Hello children, and welcome to another Peace Virus broadcast.

This issue is specifically aimed at the vast multitude of users who roam the vast web 2.0 social bookmark known as DIGG.

You might remember me from previous intermissions such as We all Hate War and How the internet can Help make a better world. Well, today I’m about to discuss something new, fresh and hopefully enticing.

I’m here to tell you how you could make us all believe in a better world, just by clicking the DIGG button down there. No purchase required!

This article has a sole purpose: Getting David Horvitz some due exposure. REAL internet exposure, the way DIGG knows so well. Who is this guys and why would you care? I’ll try to explain as succinctly as I can, but first and foremost let me assure you he’s not someone I know - he’s just a total internet stranger. The thing is… I think this guy is worthy of 15 minutes of Internet fame, and I’m convinced that if can bring his website to public attention, wonderful things could happen.

The sole purpose of this article is getting THIS WEBSITE to the DIGG frontpage. Why? Check it out, Keep reading and you might be willing to indulge this wretched foolery.

You see… David Horvitz is a random New Yorker who provides quite a unique selection of … services, within his personal homepage. Such services range from sending you an envelope with rare sand from Okinawa beach, to reading the “Little Prince” end-to-end in public declamation upon Wall Street, to feeding a homeless guy and sending you a picture and a receipt. Why a receipt? Well, because you’d have given him the money in the first place, of course! You… or somebody else out of the kazillion people that will know about hit, if you help make this story popular!

Are you gonna stand there and moan that you could be selling crazy services on the interner and “ripping off total strangers”, or will you just hit the DIGG button, get the story popular and see what happens? Will you believe in the power of dreaming, or will you merely drift by and get bemoaned in contempt with life’s adversities?

David Horvitz kissing the moon tree!

I’m sure there will be people willing to support this bizarre urban poet, in spite of all the OGC losers who will shout out “SCREW THE OGC LOSER” in the comments section.

But I’m also certain there are sufficient dreamers in DIGG to get this story popular. I just hope I can bring them all together, and make something interesting with out combined internet powers.

I’m not asking you to support David Horvitz and purchase his crazy services - I’m just asking to help get this article to the FP and then let’s see what happens! I believe we could show that our combined wills just might be able to operate small miracles… such as helping a crazy guy to get money to get crazy all he likes because the world is crazy anyway and money is shit and what this person is doing is A LOT more interesting that money could ever be. You can take that to the bank, but they’ll probably just tell you to get lost - because they’re cynical and cool-blooded like that : what about yourself?

Don’t just DIGG this article… if you believe in what I’m doing, play your part for the cause! Get others to vote! Speak your mind! Let’s get this to the Great Beyond sooner than later!

Today is the day where you can make a change. Today is the day you might be willing to create a new internet buzz. All you need to do is push this button over here:

The rest will be a matter of chance. Just think about hit! What do suppose will happen is this article his the digg.com frontpage? I’m guessing this crazy internet dreamer called David Horvitz will get a chance to sparkle, and all of us will get a chance to demonstrate just how we have power to shift this seeemingly cold-hearted bleak contemporary reality. Furthermore, we’ll be demonstrating just what kind of power DIGG could have, if used with the right focus.

As chance would have it, I believe wonderful things could happen.

Would you believe?

Thanks for your support, and stay tuned for further intermissions from the Peace Virus.

This might just be the most ecologic house… ever!

admin April 29th, 2008

amazing hillside house

Nowadays ecological concerns are steadily growing in popularity - and that’s definitely good. Most households are growing aware of the urgency to preserve the environment, yet I’m confident to say this is possibly the most low-impact natural house ever. Not only is this reminiscent of the Hobbit’s habitations in the blockbuster movie the lord of the rings, it’s also very much spectacular, as you can check for yourself.

spectacular gree house

It’s not everyday you find a website detailing the technicalities of carving an old-fashioned house within a hillside, so if this is something that gets you dreaming, go ahead and indulge yourself. I, for one would love to build myself such a wonderful place as this one, someday!

ArborSculpture, teaching the art of Shaping Trees!

admin April 21st, 2008

There’s something amazing about trees, and I don’t mean the fact they help recycle our atmosphere. I also don’t mean to point how their unique patience and zen-like lifestyle (I mean have you ever thought how some trees live hundreds of years in the exact same spot, and they never seem to grow tired of it). Today I’m here to tell you about the versatility and flexibility of trees.

trees go hippie

Did you know it’s possible to create actual arboreal sculptures by encouraging trees to grow in a certain way? I’d heard of techniques that allow creating a natural cane by tying a tree branch into the proper shape, and letting it grow that way. However, just now I was browsing through the ArborSmith website, and I learned about other sophisticated techniques that allow to create amazing artworks with trees… provided there’s enough ability and patience - this is not about forcing the trees to assume a particular shape, it’s about encouraging growth.

isn\'t this the most peaceful tree ever?

If you want to learn some neat techniques for shaping trees into benches, canes, or even a peace sign, I’m sure you’ll find this resource quite fascinating and possibly inspiring. Enjoy your time in nature… and be kind with trees.

Also, for more impressive tree-related pictures, check out this article.

That round Yellow-Head dot Gobbler: A Pacman Tribute!

admin April 15th, 2008

“Immensely popular in the United States from its original release to the present day, Pac-Man is universally considered as one of the classics of the medium, virtually synonymous with video games, and an icon of 1980s popular culture.”(Pacman wiki)

pacman tribute video game history

It would be shameful to waste words dissecting this unique and universal videogame experience; the brilliancy and timelessness of this landmark video games lies perhaps in its sheer simplicity. Everyone can make the world seem complicated, but it takes a special kind of genius to keep things simple. And with its striking labyrinths, menacing silly phantoms and speck-eating rush, this charming yellowhead character provides us all with tongue-in-cheek demonstration of the K.I.S.S (keep it simple, stupid) principle; so brace yourself and get ready for a walk down memory lane with today’s special feature.
