I don’t know about yourself, but one of the things I like best about the future present is that I get to regularly experience technological trends and gadgets that I used to imagine when I was a kid. I’ve always enjoyed trying to figure out what kind of innovations would become standard household items when I got older, and I especially liked comparing old sci-fi movies set in the not-so-distant future to the actual real-world technological developments.

For example, I clearly recall wondering when there would be some kind of digital canvas which could be used to render pictures at the click of a button, and I actually remember a time when the prospect of such a device clearly sounded to me like an utterly awesome and futuristic concept - and I’m not even 30 yet, mind you! Well, nowadays there are increasingly more households with at least on digital photo frame, and I’m guessing that larger frames (as well as alternative methods) are just around the corner.

Actually, I’ll wager it won’t take 10 years until full-fledged digital walls or windows will become standard. I’ve been reading some interesting things about the introduction of digital paper, but I’ll discuss such novelty in a future slice; this time around I’m focusing on something more contemporary and tangible - something you can already pick off the shelves (or teh internets) quite easily and without spending much cash.
