This may not come as much of a surprise for someone who’s used to reading my rants, but as fate would have it, I was to become a college dropout. I did attend a good college for a few years, but I never did manage to quite get along with the program; so in time I decided to page myself, follow my own agenda, and - if I ever feel such need - eventually resume my studies elsewhere. I really have a hard-time putting up with mind-numbing, futility-program kind of institution; in fact there’s was a time when I decided I was altogether anti-institutional. Thankfully, it didn’t take long until I realized my problem was not caused by the institution per se, but rather its limited and old-fashioned ways. In fact… just now, I was happy to know there are like-minded institutions out there:
Well, it so happens I’ve been reading a lot of interesting information concerning a whole new breed of colleges which begins to surface all around the world, particularly in the U.S.A. Just now, I was reading about Kettering University in Ohio, and I’ve become very enticed with their unique philosophy and methodologies - it’s not by accident Kettering has been recognized as one of US News Best Colleges. I think this is the kind of place I can see myself really expanding my skills, rather than getting toned-down and formatted to subscribe mediocrity.
Too bad this school is focused on mechanical engineering, and I’m majoring in Sciences of Communication. If anyone happens to know a good academic lead that will allow me to resume my academic endeavours, I’ll be most obliged to know. In the meanwhile, I’m confident there are many talented individuals out there who can benefit from this lead, so there you go! Follow your dreams, and make sure you don’t get watered down by people who see only bleak concrete.
