Overcome Emotional Eating, Get Ready for Spring!
+
I’ve always heard that a good man may stray from his path by hanging with the wrong crowds, but only recently have I realized how loneliness can cause as much damage, perhaps even more so. I think there are lonely people who will destroy their bodies and souls – slowly but surely, until they realize it’s too late. I think it’s particularly sad that people will get lonely despite being surrounded by millions other people, but I also think all problems can be easily overcome, provided you get your perspective in check.
There are many ways a lonely person will sabotage his welfare, through substance abuse; and I’m not talking exclusively about drugs, pills or alcohol… some people are adepts of much subtler poisons And the most unlikely poison I can think of is probably food! Isn’t that the ultimate irony, if you think about it? Food is necessary to keep us nourished, but in excess it can actually become serious a problem and lead to help problems and mental distress.
And while there are many documented eating disorders, recently a noteworthy argument has been raised concerning the so-called binge eaters – people who use food as an evasion from their daily worries.
I know this sounds troublesome, but in my opinion, emotional eating - just like any other problem, it’s only as much a problem as you let it be. Most people really don’t get it, but life really is simple like that : you get to choose what suits you best. Do you prefer dealing with problems or solutions? You may not believe it, but this is an actual choice you can make, and you get to make it on a daily basis. So if you suffer with emotional eating and you think you can’t get over it on your own, maybe it’s about time you get some help!
If you’re feel uncomfortable about asking for professional help, or if you’re not sure you have a problem but you think you might, I’d like to recommend an online program that might help.
