I was just telling you about how it sucks when a merchant does not own a wireless credit card machine, and how that makes any business look old-fashioned, and right I’m feeling old-fashioned myself. I still hold it that merchants should keep up to date with technology, but I’d never really considered how technology is getting increasingly sophisticated. For example, have you noticed the buzz surround RFID chips?

I’ve been reading this article about the infamous RFID chip, and I just realized how this technology is about to drastically change the world - for better and worse. RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) is a method of automatic identificacion, which revolves around a small chip that can be embebed in any object, such as a credit card, or any living creature, such as a person!
So, these are the chips they’ll be using to monitor each one of us in the future, and it will be likely to make credit cards as much obsolete as paper money is getting, nowadays. Don’t you think that’s a bit scary? I think the scariest part is there’s really no turning back from this… people may bitch and moan and shout out loud they’ll never get implanted - tracked down and catalogued - but I can assure you that in 30 years the vast majority of us will already be implanted! Trust me on this one. You know why I’m so certain? Because it will be convenient… and everyone loves conveninence!
