Pearls are definitely one of nature’s small wonders. Did you know a pearl originates after a single speck of sand gets trapped within an oyster? The oyster will protect itself against the alien speck by covering in sucessive layers of its inner shell. The result? A beautiful pearl. Granted, this kind of natural pearl is quite rare and expensive. However, there are also cultured pearls, which look pretty much the same, and they’re usually sold for a much lower price.
