A word on Smorty, plus a thought on sponsored posts.

I’ve just started working with a new sponsored posts agency - in other words, a company which allows people to blog for money. it’s called Smorty, and from what I’ve seen so far it really does provide a cool, efficient service. The control panel is clean and neat, there’s a good volume of campaigns going around, and the pay is not too bad. This agency provides a double service: it can be used both by bloggers looking forward to make some extra money through sponsored postings, and it can also be used by people willing to put some money into spreading the word on their products, services or … even blogs, I guess. As far as I can see, this sort of business represents the most promising marketing avenue of the near future.

Also, since I’ve brought up the issue of sponsored posts (which I don’t really regard as an issue, but more like an asset), there’s something I’d like to add. I’m aware some of you people may get the feeling I have been pushing it too hard with sponsored posts and all, but I urge you to be patient. First of all, I usually only take peculiar sponsors that fit within the editorial line I’m aiming to maintain - meaning I’m getting paid to write on stuff I’d probably write about anyway.
Second (and more important), I’m planning to invest most of the money back into the site, and this is where the real fun is going to begin! There will be many nice surprises in the near future, and if you keep hanging around, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
