Alice: Night Time Waking

admin October 30th, 2007

This is an intriguing black-and-white two part webcomic which is somewhat reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland - only in a twisted, mostly speechless way. The artwork is dense and moody, and the pacing is rather nice; if not disturbing on occasions. All in all, this makes for a fun read, as well as a illustrative example of an interesting webcomic. Check it out for yourself here!

Make room for the original technoViking!

admin October 29th, 2007

To the unsuspecting observer, this may look like nothing more but a silly video featuring a doped-up bodybuilder. Some watchers have commented this might just be the up-and-coming Chuck Norris - while I do agree with such comment to an extent (there’s something about his face that’s reminiscent of the good ol’ ranger), I still know best - for what I bring you today is a little piece of Internet history, a proud addiction to the roster of ill-famed Internet People. Ladies and gentleman… meet the TechnoViking!

Brace yourself for the world of bad candy!

admin October 28th, 2007

Whether you’re a masochistic fan of bad candy, or you’re just interested in identifying such candy so you can stay clear off it, the website I decided to feature today will most likely prove helpful. Bad Candy.com is an inspiring resource featuring reviews of sugary treats from hell - actually, it looks like most of them originated in Mexico. Apparently the Mexican people have a predisposition to create sweet&salty&spicy candies: peculiar combinations, which not many taste buds can happily relate to.

Bad Candy!

I figured since Halloween is just around the corner, maybe this will prove a useful resource to help you give a whole new meaning to the expression “trick or treat”. Some of the dire candy highlights you’ll want to look for are “Bomvaso”, “Cajetas”, “Chaca Chaca”, and “Rebanadas”. Steer of the “pulp of tamarind”, tough: giving something like that to children (or anyone else, for that matter) is probably not only immoral but illegal as well. For detailed reviews and snapshots, check out the Bad Candy website!

The Wondrous world of Chi: Get in touch with your inner power!

slices October 22nd, 2007

Have you ever heard about something called “chi“? As in Tai Chi? The quoted term can be defined in various ways - most abstract things can - however for the sake of convenience, we shall refer to it as our inner power. This is not merely something you can read about; more importantly I think it’s something you can feel. If you pay close attention to yourself, you’ll notice there’s a physical strenght to your body, which is obvious - but there’s also another kind of force scouring your veins, and permeating through your entire body… force which is quite more subtle, even tough it can also be quite powerful, once you learn to harness its potential. There are several methods for raising awareness of this subtle force, as well as techniques aimed at developing conscious control of it. I’ll leave you with a couple videos featuring exhibitions by people who have developed such control. Hopefully this will make you curious about Chi; If you’re interested, just make a comment, I’ll make sure to further discuss the topic in future posts. Enjoy!

Something to help you keep a clean gut! Not a potion, just a supplement!

admin October 21st, 2007

They usually say a fish dies by the mouth; ironic as it may seem, many people die by the gut, as result of negative confluences within the digestive system. It’s definitely a good idea to take some action to keep your guts fresh and sparkling, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to recommend a product aimed at colon cleanse This looks like a good detoxification and cleansing supplement, so I was wondering it someone out there has ever tried it. In any case, just don’t forget this is a supplement to a healthy lifestyle, not some kind of magical potion! Have fun, and enjoy your well-being!

Want to learn how to make soap bubbles larger than life?

boliu October 19th, 2007

If you thought you were already familiar with the most amusing effect one can achieve by using different kind of lubricants, glycerin, and a few other household products, guess again. This is not about getting kinky, mind you; actually, it’s very much the opposite: this video teaches you how to brew some super-potent soap bubble fluid that will allow you to make some humongous soap bubbles. And I might add this is an understatement, too! Just check it out and it won’t take you long to catch my meaning. Have fun making soap bubbles, and making people smile! And if you end up with some leftover lube, you’re free to use that to the best of your discretion.

Throw away your DVD’s: best keep your data within undivided storage!

admin October 18th, 2007

Within a world increasingly thriving with digital information, it’s best to keep a proper storagehouse at hand to insure your data is kept safe, at all times. The last few years, there has been a real advent of high-capacity pen drives, and more recently external hard drives. These littles boxes are highly useful, and they really pack a punch, as far as storage space is concerned- you can get a portable hard drive such as the one bellow for as little as $.25/Gigabyte (up to 1TB for a measly $250). This is a real blessing for people such as myself, who hate dealing with piles of DVDs; portable hard drives are definitely the most convenient option for storing massive volumes of information. If you haven’t already, I suggest you consider getting yourself one of these beauties!

A word on Smorty, plus a thought on sponsored posts.

admin October 18th, 2007

I’ve just started working with a new sponsored posts agency - in other words, a company which allows people to blog for money.  it’s called Smorty, and from what I’ve seen so far it really does provide a cool, efficient service. The control panel is clean and neat, there’s a good volume of campaigns going around, and the pay is not too bad. This agency provides a double service: it can be used both by bloggers looking forward to make some extra money through sponsored postings, and it can also be used by people willing to put some money into spreading the word on their products, services or … even blogs, I guess. As far as I can see, this sort of business represents the most promising marketing avenue of the near future.

Smorty

Also, since I’ve brought up the issue of sponsored posts (which I don’t really regard as an issue, but more like an asset), there’s something I’d like to add. I’m aware some of you people may get the feeling I have been pushing it too hard with sponsored posts and all, but I urge you to be patient. First of all, I usually only take peculiar sponsors that fit within the editorial line I’m aiming to maintain - meaning I’m getting paid to write on stuff I’d probably write about anyway.

Second (and more important), I’m planning to invest most of the money back into the site, and this is where the real fun is going to begin! There will be many nice surprises in the near future, and if you keep hanging around, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
