I was playing a bit (actually 8bits – HA!) Super Mario 3 in my trusty DS just now, and I discovered a warp zone from world 2 to world 7. So, I began to suspect that I might probably have already become an awesome player, and I decided I’d go look around youtube for a speedrun that would provide me with a term of comparison. In case you don’t know, a speedrun is a video where users try to finish a certain game in as little time as possible, in order to exhibit their flawless skill. And when I say flawless, I really do mean impossibly impeccable. Just watching this video of some guy beating the game in 11 minutes made me want to quit playing and turn to something I might be good at, such as blogging.
Then again, I must not fail to remind myself that one can always get better at anything he wants, by practicing real hard – *and* real smart. So I’ll keep doing my best to push the right buttons, and maybe one day I’ll be able to finish Super Mario Bros 3 in less than 11 minutes, and who knows I’ll also make it to an outstading newstory on blogging achievement such as this one. Ha! It doesn’t hurt dreaming, I suppose… head on the clouds, feet planted firmly on the ground — that’s the way to go!
By the way, I’ve noticed there’s a lot of dreamers out there, lately! If you’re one of them, make sure to keep bouncing back, maybe one of these days we’ll dream larger dreams all together! Stranger things have happened, says I.
In case you’re too much of a grown up to remember what Super Mario 3, inform yourself.
