The video bellow provides a demonstration of an interesting scientific curiosity, called non-Newtonian fluid. This is basically a rebellious fluid which behaves differently according to the pressure it’s subject to (not unlike human beings, one might add). What does this mean? Well, the video is quite self-explanatory, but the basics behind newtonian fluid is that it can act both as a liquid and as a solid, depending on the pressure you apply upon the fluid’s surface. If you want to give it a try, a simple type of non-Newtonian fluid can be created by mixing corn flour with water. Quite possibly, you have noticed this common mixture has strange properties, yet there’s a good chance you didn’t know it can be used for something like this:
