Sometimes, people talk of ecology as though it were something fashionable, or something nice they should do. What most people fail to realize is that ecology is increasingly becoming a life-threatening necessity. Have you noticed for how long people have been saying that unless we reverse the current rate of degradation we’re exerting on the world, it won’t take long until earth become inhabitable? Have you noticed that many changes, in the meanwhile? Sure, we have been taught to separate our trash, but believe me - separating trash hardly amounts to anything at all, considering the dimensions of the problem.

As far as recycling is used as an excuse for self-indulgence, I honestly believe it’s a bad thing. If the earth is to be save, we must engage more demanding efforts, such as avoid causing pollution through motorized vehicles, and choosing unprocessed unpackaged products. Have you ever considered the amount of plastic that goes into food packaging alone? It must be insanely outrageous, and I doubt mere recycling makes up for more than 10% of it. Today’s slice will provide you with a quiz which evaluates your ecological footprints, and tells you how many earths would be necessary, if everyone was like you. My score was 2,5 earths - even tough I make e same regular recycling efforts / water saving etc. as everyone else! This got me thinking just how far behind we’re going in the fight to save the planet!
