Vib Ribbon PSX

Are you a fan you rhythm games? I know I am, and also I know that if you’re not, you might as well be, one day. With that in mind, I’ve decided to share this amazing article I found, which discusses the top 10 rhythm games out there. The thing with rhythm games is they bring together the best of two worlds: gaming and playing music. They come in all sizes and flavors, but they invariably revolve around the same concept: tapping buttons to the rhythm of the game’s soundtrack. While the premise sounds a bit plain, I can assure there’s loads of fun in this genre, and it’s definately a breath of fresh air from the overwhelming war / blood / gore games that get all the hype these days.

Parappa the Rapper

The checklist I’ve found over at GameSpot features most of my favorite games such as Parappa and Vib Ribbon, so I think it’s very agreeable; the list goes like this:

GameSpot’s top 10 Rythm Games
10: PaRappa the Rapper (PlayStation)
09: Samba de Amigo (Dreamcast)
08: Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan! (Nintendo DS)
07: Gitaroo-Man (PlayStation 2)
06: vib-ribbon (PlayStation)
05: Guitar Freaks (PlayStation)
04: Bust-A-Groove (PlayStation)
03: Frequency (PlayStation 2)
02: Guitar Hero (PlayStation 2)
01: Dance Dance Revolution: 3rd Mix (PlayStation)
Bust-a-groove PSX
If you want to, read the full article click here; it’s quite comprehensive and engaging, and I highly recommend everyone who’s a fan of the genre to read it. As you can see, the list covers different game systems, so there’s plenty to choose from; just make sure to tell me what your favorite rhythm game is, and check you’re flow while you’re at it, yeah?
