Rope-play games have always been popular, ever since they first came up as table top games. However, since the advent of the internet, there has been a huge proliferation of online rpg’s of every kind and flavour. With that in mind, I wasn’t too surprised when I came across a web-based game that lets players act out their criminal tendencies, withouth risking wasting time in captivity; much like blockbuster videogame GTA, only on a purely strategic level. Ladies and gentlemen, The Crims: a game with takes place in the fictional CrimCity “a metropolitan for gangsters, scumbags, and criminals. You have limited time to earn as much respect as you can. The one with the most respect at the end of the game wins!”

Sounds simple enough? Players will be able to engage a considerable number of ilicit activities to fund their criminal organization. While mostly text-based, this web game seems interesting enough, judging from the amount of registered, active players. This is a good choice for those looking forward to a coffee break where they can lash out their gangster side: there’s even awards for those who surface as the most nefariously popular, after each round.
Playing “The Crims” is mostly free, although you get the option of buying credits for extra features and special in-game priviledges. If you want to check it out for yourself, head out to www.thecrims.com
