Ever owned an ant farm? When I was younger i used to read about ant such contraptions in comic books and I was somewhat puzzled with the concept. But as it turns out, it’s actually pretty cool! Old-fashioned ant farms (properly called “formicariums”, mind you) were thin aquarium-like devices with dirt or sand inside, in which the ants did their thing, digging intricate networks of tunnels. Nowadays there are modern versions which use a translucid gel which provides everything the little creatures need to grow and prosper. If you’re into architecture and tunneling, why not get one of these as a novelty decoration? Not only will you be able to behold nature’s beauty, but you’ll also get yourself an ant army to defend your house from invading ants in the summer!
